Our team of certified Medical Laser specialists including Registered Nurses offer medical grade high performance laser treatments for both face and body. Cutera Coolglide requires significantly less visits than most other lasers for permanent hair reduction.
All parts of the body are treatable. This includes all areas of the face, legs, arms, underarms and back.
Laser is also suitable for sensitive areas such as chest, areola, Bikini and Brazillian. A topical anaesthetic is offered for sensitive areas. Our advanced laser specialists have the training and expertise to treat all skin types. Our latest state of the art Laser system by Cutera is an Nd Yag Coolglide 1064 NM. As the name implies; the coolglide hand piece cools as it treats reducing heat from surrounding tissue, lowering the risk of complications. Its unique design, longer wavelength and innovative cooling design, allows extremely effective, safe permanent hair reduction. For larger areas we use our Prowave 770 and new to our practise is the latest Prowave LX for finer, lighter more superficial hair. The cooled handpiece increases patient comfort and minimizes the adverse skin reactions commonly seen with other light sourced lasers or when in the hands of unskilled operators.
Laser light is absorbed by melanin, which is the target (chromophore ) in hair. The light is converted to heat.
Heat is required to damage the bulb of the hair follicle which is responsible for hair re-growth. The skill of our laser specialist is to generate the highest powers of heat to disable the hair structure without causing thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. Using the coolglide system known for its high safety record, along with our specialists vast knowledge and experience in treating all Fitzpatrick Skin types; our practise can safely but effectively destroy unwanted hair permanently and reduce the number of visits required.
The average number of treatments recommended for most areas is 6. Laser will only target hair in the 'active growth' phase. Our Laser specialists will prescribe a treatment plan suited best for your individual skin type, hair colour, hair thickness, density and area to be treated. Unwanted hair that has been treated may take up to two weeks to fall out. Permanent hair reduction requires a series of treatments. The number of treatments depends on area, type of hair, skin colour, hair colour and heat that can be tolerated.
The type of laser, the cooling device that is offered along with the skill of the operator can greatly influence the number of sessions required to achieve permanent hair reduction.
Hormones, diseases, medication or other factors can also affect the treatment outcome. If you have any queries to any of the mentioned concerns we have a Registered Nurse available daily and our Cosmetic Doctor is available for appointments every Friday Morning where this can be discussed.
Costs appear to vary greatly from clinic to clinic per session. However, when it comes to getting value for money, paying a higher price for many less sessions and getting the results desired is what a consumer should be looking for.
We strongly recommend our clients do their homework and gain the knowledge that they are getting value for money at East Coast Laser & Cosmedic Port Macquarie.
